My Favorite Of NASA's Apollo Movies
This film absolutely rocks even without the Moon landing. The awesome expanse of space & our tiny machines comes through. This was space adventure in the finest sense and comprised by one of Apollo's elite crews: Tom Stafford, who literally wrote the book on how to get out of Earth orbit and to the Moon. Eugene Cernan, the taciturn professional astronaut who would later be the last human to walk on the Moon in Apollo 17. And NASA legend Tom Young, the only astronaut to have flown Gemini, Apollo and the Space Shuttle, who would himself later command the Apollo 16 mission. The science is fascinating but the humanity of the endeavor also shines through, most notably in a fascinating sequence where man learns to shave in space. One of the coolest half hours you can spend with an experimental music score that works marvels in juxtaposing human imagination against the expanse of the Cosmos. Check it out!!
